Alan spends most of his time and energy on the activities that will drive user acquisition, engagement, monetization and brand leadership in the vast new frontier of Internet growth RockeTalk is pioneering.
He has done this before. In the 90’s with a small Irish software startup, Aldiscon, Alan helped make the market for mobile text messaging by securing some of the first few commercial infrastructure deals and for 10 years led an exciting international career helping Logica, it’s acquirer, become the worldwide leader in mobile value added service platforms and a world leading Software/IT services player with 44,000 staff. That journey saw Alan founding Logica’s South American operation, based from Sao Paulo Brazil and ultimately progress to run Logica’s worldwide Telecoms and media P&L. In 2006 he decided to get back to his entrepreneurial roots, working with early stage, consumer product businesses spanning Internet and mobile. Alan was an advisory board member to Plaxo, the Internet address book (acquired by Comcast) and most recently, helped take San Francisco based mobile Skype pioneer, iSkoot to successful acquisition by Qualcomm.
Alan achieved a Bachelor of Technology (1st class) from Limerick University, Ireland and a post Graduate diploma in Maths and science from Trinity College Dublin. A keen sailor, Alan is a veteran of the Whitbread Round the World race.
Founder, CTO and India Managing Director
Rajiv founded RockeTalk in 2007. He oversees all things technical in RockeTalk ranging from infrastructure, operations, product and of course the innovations critical to our sustained growth. As with all members of the management team, Rajiv is a key figure in guiding the strategic vision of the company.
Prior to RockeTalk, Rajiv was the founder and CTO of Widcomm, a technology and market leader in Bluetooth solutions. Widcomm was acquired by Broadcom in 2004. The technology developed at Widcomm is now in cell phones, laptops, hands-free car kids and wireless headsets. Prior to Widcomm, Rajiv was a VP and CTO at Uniden’s San Diego research and development center, which he co-founded. At Uniden, Rajiv was responsible for the development of the advanced wireless data product line that included GPRS modems, CDPD and 2-way pagers. Rajiv was also an engineering leader at Hughes Network Systems. During his stay at Hughes Network Systems, Rajiv was one of the primary inventors of CDPD technology that was the first ever cellular wireless data deployed.
Rajiv holds several patents and has published textbooks in the wireless data area. Rajiv holds a BS and MS from Indian Institute of Technology.

Bhartesh is responsible for driving all engineering activities related to development of RockeTalk products in the RockeTalk India engineering center. He has been instrumental in developing the RockeTalk technology from the concept stage to the current platform. Before joining RockeTalk, Bhartesh was a Technical Leader at Cisco Systems for six years where he worked on voice over IP technology for different platforms. Bhartesh also designed and developed several protocols for the Cisco Voice Gateway and Media Gateway, including MGCP/TGCP/RUDP. While at Cisco, Bhartesh was honored many times with the best performance award.
Prior to Cisco, Bhartesh worked for Fujitsu as software consultant, where he designed a threshold alert system for optical interface on their FSR switch.
Bhartesh holds Masters Degree in Computer application from ICSEI, Indore, India.
Chief Marketing Officer
Sameer is responsible for all aspects of corporate branding, client acquisition, services, product marketing and user monetization. He was with the founding team that launched RockeTalk Indian operations in 2009 and has been instrumental in evolving the service to be India’s largest and most used mobile social media application. Latterly, Sameer has lead RockeTalk’s brand monetization efforts and the creation of innovative new mobile advertising units such as ‘click to call banners’, media placement, branded virtual goods and watermarks. He has also been pioneering engagement driven mobile Advertisements and was responsible for successfully launching India’s first mobile reality game show

Leo Speigel - Chairman of the Board, Managing partner, Mission Ventures
Leo Spiegel is a Managing Partner at Mission Ventures, Prior to joining Mission Ventures, Leo Spiegel was President of Digital Island, Inc., a leading provider of global e-business network and content delivery services. Leo joined Digital Island as a result of a merger with Sandpiper Networks, Inc., the world's first content delivery service provider for the Internet, where he was the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. In 2000, Leo won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Formerly he was also the co-founder, EVP and CTO of LANSystems, a network utilities software developer and international systems integration firm, which was sold to Intel Corporation and R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company. Leo went on to serve as Senior Vice President and CTO of Donnelley Enterprise Solutions Incorporated, the information management firm specializing in systems integration, outsourcing and software development.
Leo is a Director of Alpine Data Labs, Eveo, Zui.com, MaestroDev, RotoHog, Slacker and Transaction Wireless. Leo is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Management Sciences. Leo is a member of the Dean's Advisory Council at the Rady School of Management at UCSD.

Ted Alexander - Managing Partner, Mission Ventures
Ted Alexander is a Managing Partner of Mission Ventures and has been with the firm since its founding. Prior to joining Mission Ventures, Ted worked closely with a successful Mission Ventures portfolio company investment, Sandpiper Networks. Previously, Ted was a Platoon Commander in the US Navy SEALs, and a Division Officer aboard a US Navy destroyer. Ted received an MBA from Duke University, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. Ted's investment focus has been predominantly in the areas of communications and infrastructure, and is currently serving as a Board Director for MaxLinear, ID Analytics, Networks in Motion, Ortiva Wireless, RockeTalk, TelASIC Communications, Verimatrix and LeisureLink.
Dinesh Wadhawan - Director
Dinesh Wadhawan is a global executive with 28 years of experience with global conglomerates, venture backed start-ups and Fortune 100 enterprises. He recently joined the board of mobile rich social media start-up, Rocketalk, based in San Diego, California. Prior, he was the MD & CEO of Times Internet Ltd.,(www.indiatimes.com) a successful digital enterprise of the Times Group, India's largest media house. In his three and a half year tenure, he grew this business four fold in revenue, groomed senior management, launched several new digital and mobile products and partnerships. Dinesh was formerly the MD at Microsoft's Servers & Tools division. At Microsoft, Dinesh led the Microsoft-Siebel alliance, from inception to NPV of $2.0B revenues for the alliance. Prior to joining Microsoft, Dinesh was President and CEO of Paramark Inc, a Sunnyvale, California-based company focused on developing real-time optimization platform for inter-active campaigns.
Dinesh has worked for Vicinity Corporation as Senior Vice-President, Worldwide Sales and Services. He was a key member of the executive team to take the company public on NASDAQ (VCNT). Prior to Vicinity, Dinesh has worked in the UK and USA, for Systems Union, a client server financial & supply chain application company for 10 years, in several management & leadership roles. Dinesh have a tremendous experience in Product Development, Sales, Business Development, Strategic Alliances and Go-to-market initiatives.
